This cut-and-come-again flower yields multiple cuts over the season. Scabiosa-type flowers on long stems. Flowers are mostly double with some off-type, semi-double and single flowers. They may make memorable cut flowers. Easy to grow, plants love the heat, will tolerate drought, and are resistant to deer and rabbits. Bloom is continuous over an extended summer and fall season, and the bright flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies galore!
DETAILS:
QTY: 25
TYPE: Annual
DEPTH: 1/4"
GERMINATION: 5-7 days at 21-24°C
HEIGHT: 25 - 32”
SITE: Full Sun
MATURITY: 75-90 days
SPACING: 9-12”
PINCH: When 12” tall
HOW TO GROW:
Indoors (recommended) - Sow into seedling container 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Cover seeds. A heat mat will help maintain temperature. Lower temperatures will result in slower germination. Harden-off and transplant out after last frost. Do not allow plants to become root bound and avoid disturbing roots; transplant shock or other stress events may cause double-flowering varieties to produce single blooms for a period following stress. Direct seed - After last frost. Succession-sow/plant every two weeks for prolonged yields. Pinching of initial bud or bloom and subsequent deadheading is recommended to encourage strong branching and bloom production.
