Poppy 'Purple Peony'
Poppy 'Purple Peony'
An upright annual boasting large, fully double flowers 4” - 5” across, densely packed with dark purple , crumpled petals. Blooming for weeks in summer, the ravishing blooms sit on top of stout stems clad with heart-shaped, silvery leaves. They are followed by decorative seed pods that can be used in dried flower arrangements, or left in the garden for the visual interest that they bring. This poppy will give a colour punch to your beds and borders.

How To Grow:
Poppies don't like to be transplanted, so directly sow the seeds in late fall or early spring, after the danger of frost. Gently rake into the soil, and water. Or start seeds indoors weeks before last frost in a compostable pot. The seeds are very small; bottom watering is recommended until plants emerge. Poppies are annuals, but they self-seed, so you can treat them as a perennial.
