Papaver nudicaule. The Iceland Poppy is a hardy, but short-lived perennial, grown as a biennial in Coastal gardens. Either way, they self sow readily, so will last for years at a time. The large, cup shaped blooms have a texture like crepe paper and appear in a range of subdued pastel colours - apricot, gold, tangerine, and white.
* Colour mix is not guaranteed*
DETAILS:
QTY: 300
TYPE: Annual; Self-sowing
SITE: Full - Part Sun
DEPTH: Surface; Do not cover
GERMINATION: 14-21 days at 16-18°C
HEIGHT: 3 - 4'
MATURITY: 80 - 90 Days
SPACING: 9 - 12"
How To Grow:
Poppies don't like to be transplanted, so directly sow the seeds in late fall or early spring, after the danger of frost. Gently rake into the soil, and water. Or start seeds indoors weeks before last frost in a compostable pot. The seeds are very small; bottom watering is recommended until plants emerge. Poppies are annuals, but they self-seed, so you can treat them as a perennial.
