Amazing Grey, Papaver rhoeas. It was love at first sight as soon as I spotted this stunning poppy. The flowers of Amazing Grey poppy are such a pale lilac colour they appear grey against their green foliage. The flowers are fully double, with an incredibly delicate texture. Like most poppies, Amazing Grey tends to self sow, but never becomes aggressive and it's very easy to control.

Poppies don't like to be transplanted, so directly sow the seeds in late fall or early spring, after the danger of frost. Gently rake into the soil, and water. Or start seeds indoors weeks before last frost in a compostable pot. The seeds are very small; bottom watering is recommended until plants emerge. Poppies are annuals, but they self-seed, so you can treat them as a perennial.
