Strawberry Blonde Calendula (Calendula officinalis 'Strawberry Blonde')
Strawberry Blonde offers a romantic twist on the classic calendula, with pastel tones of rose, apricot, and peach that subtly shift in hue depending on light and temperature. Each double bloom feels like a little piece of sunrise, making it a standout in cutting gardens, cottage-style plantings, and container displays.
Calendulas are among the fastest flowers to bloom from seed—often flowering in just two months—and thrive with little fuss. Beloved by bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects, they add both beauty and biodiversity to the garden. Their petals are edible, can be used for natural fabric dyeing, and hold value in traditional herbal and skincare preparations.
Pairs beautifully with Sunset Buff calendula, Jeanne dionis carnation, Apricot Lemonade cosmos, or creamy dahlias for soft, romantic arrangements. Also known as English Marigold or Pot Marigold.

HOW TO GROW:
Direct Seed (recommended): Sow seeds directly outdoors after the last frost. For continuous blooms, make 2–3 successive sowings 2–3 weeks apart, from summer through to heavy frost.
Transplant (alternative): Start seeds indoors 4–5 weeks before the last frost. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions before transplanting outdoors after the last frost.
Pinching: Pinching the tops of young plants can encourage a bushier habit and more blooms.
Soil Preference and Watering: Calendula prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is very adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions. Water consistently, but avoid overwatering.
Fertilizing: Fertilizing is not required for Calendula. It performs best in average to lean soil.
Harvesting: Harvest calendula flowers when they are fully open. The petals are edible and can be used to garnish salads or other dishes.
Other Tips: Calendula may self-seed if allowed to mature at season’s end.
