Pacific Beauty Mix Calendula (Calendula officinalis 'Pacific Beauty Mix')

A radiant blend of semi-double blooms in warm apricot, cream, gold, and sunny yellow, Pacific Beauty Mix adds instant cheer to garden beds and vases alike. The long, sturdy stems make it a dependable choice for cutting, while its sunny tones brighten any border or bouquet. These easy-going annuals thrive in full sun or partial shade, and their edible petals can be torn and scattered over salads or summer dishes for a pop of colour and flavour.

Calendulas are among the fastest flowers to bloom from seed—often in as little as two months—and require little maintenance once established, making them perfect for low-maintenance gardens or xeriscaping. Also known as English Marigold or Pot Marigold, they’re beloved by pollinators. Their versatile petals can be used for natural dyeing, skincare, and medicinal preparations.

Pairs beautifully with Orange Sherbet and Pink Surprise calendulas, or with Kiiro cosmos for a warm, sunlit palette.

HOW TO GROW:
Direct Seed (recommended): Sow seeds directly outdoors after the last frost. For continuous blooms, make 2–3 successive sowings 2–3 weeks apart, from summer through to heavy frost.

Transplant (alternative): Start seeds indoors 4–5 weeks before the last frost. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions before transplanting outdoors after the last frost.

Pinching: Pinching the tops of young plants can encourage a bushier habit and more blooms.

Soil Preference and Watering: Calendula prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is very adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions. Water consistently, but avoid overwatering.

Fertilizing: Fertilizing is not required for Calendula. It performs best in average to lean soil.

Harvesting: Harvest calendula flowers when they are fully open. The petals are edible and can be used to garnish salads or other dishes.

Other Tips: Calendula may self-seed if allowed to mature at season’s end.
