Rubenza Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus 'Rubenza')
Rubenza cosmos enchants with blooms that open in a rich cranberry-red and gradually soften to a smoky rose, creating a moody, romantic effect that lingers in garden borders, cutting gardens, and bouquets alike. The striking colour shift lends depth and elegance, pairing beautifully with soft apricot zinnias, pale lavender cosmos, or creamy amaranths, while standing in captivating contrast to deep burgundy hollyhocks or violet phlox. Its upright stems and profusion of flowers add movement and texture, making every glance in the garden a new discovery.
Also known as Mexican Aster, Rubenza attracts bumblebees and other beneficial pollinators, filling the air with gentle activity. This easy-to-grow variety offers both beauty and charm, with blooms that evoke a romantic, slightly whimsical aesthetic. Ideal for those drawn to rich, evolving hues and the subtle drama of garden compositions, Rubenza cosmos adds depth, texture, and enduring allure to any floral display.

Harvesting/Vase Life:
Individual blooms don’t last long in the vase, about 4-6 days, but each stem is loaded with multiple blossoms that open over a period of a week. Harvest when flowers are just starting to unfurl, but haven’t fully opened in order to prevent insects from pollinating, which will help stretch the vase life by a few extra days. Flower preservative is recommended.
