Tagetes lucida — Mexican Tarragon
Mexican Tarragon is a warm-climate herb valued as a substitute for French tarragon, offering sweet, licorice-scented leaves that enhance salads, sauces, and main dishes. Also known as sweet mace, it produces golden-yellow blooms throughout summer, both ornamental and edible. The flowers carry the same licorice flavour as the leaves, making them perfect for garnishing desserts and drinks. Thriving in full sun and heat where French tarragon struggles, this hardy, aromatic plant is both practical and beautiful.
