Chinese Forget-Me-Not 'Blue Showers'

Unlike traditional biennial Forget-Me-Nots that require overwintering to bloom, Chinese Forget-Me-Not (Cynoglossum amabile) ‘Blue Showers’ is a fast-growing annual that begins flowering just three months from sowing. This variety produces tall, elegant stems densely covered in small, vivid indigo-blue blooms that add a soft, romantic texture to garden beds and floral arrangements.

Excellent for cutting, this variety has a long vase life and makes a charming filler for mixed bouquets. Its abundant, branching habit provides plenty of stems from a small space, and it pairs beautifully with cottage-style or wildflower plantings.

Bees and other pollinators are drawn to its nectar-rich blooms, and while not a true forget-me-not, it shares a similar nostalgic beauty.

How To Grow:

Transplant (recommended):
Sow indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost. Harden off and transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.

Direct seed:
Sow directly into the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Cover seeds lightly. Thin as needed once true leaves appear.

Note: Cut seed heads after flowering to prevent heavy self-seeding, unless naturalizing is desired.
