Lime Light Spray Millet (Setaria italica) is a stunning ornamental grain that brings a bright burst of fresh green to the cutting garden. With its vibrant lime-green seed heads, this variety is valued not just for its colour, but for its exceptional uniformity in height, bloom size, and timing. HOW TO GROW:
Direct (recommended) after the danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds 1/8" deep, cover lightly with soil, and keep evenly moist until germination, which typically occurs in 7–14 days. Millet thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and is heat and drought tolerant once established, making it an excellent choice for summer gardens and cut flower production. For transplanting, sow seeds 4–6 weeks before your last frost date in seedling trays or individual containers. If using trays, seedlings can be carefully separated and transplanted directly into the garden once they’re large enough to handle. Using individual pots minimizes root disturbance. Transplant out after all risk of frost, spacing plants 6–10" apart. Lime Light millet adds height, texture, and movement to floral arrangements, and matures in approximately 65–75 days..
